LS, 1887 August 17 : City of Mexico, to Julius L. Brown, Atlanta.

A Mexican citizen writes his American friend of recent news items causing a stir in his country. He recounts the fall of Maximilian at Queretaro in 1867, and the subsequent criticism by the clerical press and conservative party of men thought to have betrayed Maximilian.
